The Boy and the Audience (Single)

by Bird Radio

The Wild Lakes Club exclusive

about

The Boy and the Audience is the title track of Bird Radio's upcoming debut album, due for release in 2013. The album is now complete and funds are in the process of being raised to make artwork and limited beautiful CD and Vinyl editions. And you can help! Download my music and let your friends know about it. If you can afford to donate something in return for the download then every penny received will go towards funding that first run of CDs. After two years of development I want to make sure it looks as good as it sounds!

lyrics

As the red curtain rose in the centre of the stage
A small boy could be seen facing away
Nothing happened for a couple of minutes
And the audience began to chat amongst themselves
Where was the show? Why had they come?
Then a spotlight on the boy silenced everyone
An organ resounded a curious chord
And he began to dance!

The boy was in rags but he knew how to move
His arms and his legs a pinnochio groove
The music petered out, the audience grumbled
This time he faced out into the crowd
And leaves began to fall!

He reached out his hand and he caught one with ease
cast over him were shadows in the shape of old trees
He ran off the stage and the lights all went out
This time the audience began to shout out loud!

A bird alone could be overheard
Singing the organ tune transposed up a third
Daybreak came and a canopy grew,
butterflies fluttered and songbirds flew
Our audience now rubbing their eyes
were in a forest of garagantuan size
The garden of eden was the name of the play
And where our good patrons will forever stay!
